Phillip Ray Sutter was born on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 1952, in Enid, OK to Helen Vore Sutter and Edward E. Sutter II and went home to his Heavenly Father on May 10th, 2026, at Integris Hospital in Enid.
Phillip grew up in Cheyenne Valley on the family farm and was involved in wheat and cattle most of his life. He graduated from Fairview High School and received his Bachelor's in Agri/Economics from Northwestern University in Alva. In 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, Jane Burghart Sutter. They were married 52 wonderful years and had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. His greatest joy was his family, and his grandchildren were his heart.
More than anything, he was an entrepreneur and was involved in multiple developmental projects through the years. He had a love for construction and a passion for green energy.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Enid), his children, Alexi (Josh) Tumey-Sandsprings, Annie McGuire (Enid), Ash Sutter (Enid), Joshua (Aimee) Sutter (Fairview), and grandkids, Sydney Tumey (Gage Brooks) -Sand Springs, Maya Tumey (Sand Springs), Hayden Vasquez (OKC), Gabe (Keyauna) Vasquez (Alva), Maycie Calwonsen (Alva), Wyatt Calwonsen (Carmen), Elizabeth, Emily, Brooklyn, and Writer Sutter (Fairview), 1 great grandchild Kingston Vasquez (Alva), and another on the way (Sydney). He is also survived by his sister, Sonna (Alan) Mckee- (Arizona), a sister-in-law Teresa Sutter (Alva), sister-in-law Sandie Martens (Fairview), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Phillip is preceeded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed Sutter (Alva), brothers-in-law Mark Burghart (OKC), David Burghart (Bentonville, AR), Dennis Martens (Fairview), in-laws Bill and Millie Burghart.
The family will have a private celebration of life and ask that everyone remember Phillip as the fun-loving person that he was. He never met a stranger and had a smile for everybody.
Cremation arrangements are with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
