The holiday begins at 12:01 am on Friday, August 1 and ends at twelve midnight on Sunday, August 3. The Oklahoma Legislature passed Senate Bill 861 during the 2007 Legislative Session to benefit both consumers and retailers in the state by providing sales tax exempt shopping. Free Backpack Event

Enid and the surrounding areas, they'll be providing 1,500 FREE backpacks filled with school supplies for families in need this back-to-school season. This is a drive-thru event at McKinley, Glenwood, Garfield and Longfellow. NEW THIS YEAR! They’re giving away 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies across FOUR locations! Every child who receives a backpack will also get a FREE bag of groceries for their family!
