EPS Principal Nominated for LifeChanger of the Year

ENID, OK - Scott Allen, Monroe Elementary principal, has been nominated for LifeChanger of the Year. He was nominated by his colleague and the parent of a student, Traci Conrady.
-
Five years ago, Mr. Allen walked through the doors of Monroe Elementary with great hopes of transforming a school that was in need of support. Test scores were low and attendance was poor. His plans included strategies for serving a growing population of English language learners as well as providing support to students and families struggling in poverty, abuse, and trauma.
-
"Elementary schools are short on positive male role models. I closely watch the strength of character he exhibits while working with challenging students and situations," said Conrady. "On any given day, Mr. Allen makes hard, important decisions that can impact the lives of students and families in our community. His previous experience as a middle school teacher and coach serve him well."
-
Randy Rader, EPS Assistant Superintendent, said Allen’s contributions to Monroe go beyond the school day and makes a difference for students, staff, and parents.
-
“We are honored to have Mr. Allen as part of our leadership in the district and cannot think of anyone more worthy of this nomination,” said Rader. “EPS is fortunate to have a wonderful male role model for our youngest learners at Monroe.”
-
Allen is in his sixth year as principal at Monroe Elementary. He has been instrumental in bringing a new environment to the school, beginning each day with encouraging chants with students and staff.
-
“I am honored to be nominated for LifeChanger of the Year and I am thrilled to share it with my amazing Monroe family,” said Allen.
-
Candidates for LifeChanger of the Year must meet the following criteria to be nominated: a proven ability to make a beneficial difference in the lives of students; the ability to positively add to the development of a school’s atmosphere; leadership within his/her school; a record of excellent performance at the professional level; commitment to producing a nurturing atmosphere; adherence to high moral and ethical standards.
-
LifeChanger of the Year is sponsored and run by National Life Group and the National Life Group Foundation. Since its inception in 2006, the goal of the National Life Group Foundation is to do good in the communities in which we live and work by supporting nonprofit and educational organizations.
