Autry Employees Win OKACTE Awards

ENID, OKLA. ⎯  Six Autry Technology Center employees were honored by the Association for Career and Technical Education at the 50th Annual Career and Technology Education Summer Conference at the Cox Convention Center on August 1, 2017.

Ora Morgan, former Chief Financial Officer at Autry, was awarded the Arch Alexander Award of Excellence. This award recognizes a CareerTech educator who has made significant contributions in the area of program development for CareerTech education in the State of Oklahoma.

Teri Holle (pictured), Autry Business and Industry Services Director, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes members whose dedicated contributions have been identified with the work and purposes of the Association over an extended period of time.

Janet Strate, Student Activities Director at Autry, received the Administrator of the Year award. This award recognizes excellence and dedication of members employed as full-time CareerTech administrators, program specialists, coordinators, and other CareerTech personnel and staff – not employed as teachers or guidance professionals.

Lynette Williams, Autry Academic Center Coordinator/Testing Liaison, was awarded the Oklahoma ACTE New Professionals Award in STEM. This award is given to recognize the professional development of members recognized as potential leaders of their division and the association.

Cheryl Cooksey, Graphic Arts instructor at Autry, was awarded the Carl Perkins Community Service Award which recognizes teachers with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community involvement.

Mandy Mayberry, Director of Communications, Marketing and Recruiting, received the Outstanding Communications and Marketing Award. This award recognizes staff who are demonstrating outstanding skills in communications and marketing above and beyond normal responsibilities.

Kenneth Hanson, Youth Offender Welding Instructor at Autry, received the Trade and Industrial Postsecondary Teacher of the Year. This award recognizes excellence and dedication of members employed as full-time postsecondary CTE teachers or teacher educators.

Autry also received the Distinguished Achievement Award and was recognized as a Gold Star school for the 14th year in a row.
