Mayor declares April 11 ‘Northwestern-Enid Day’

ENID, OK - Mayor Bill Shewey proclaimed April 11, 2017 as “Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid Day” during the April 4 City Council meeting. Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on Tuesday, April 11. A community ribbon-cutting ceremony, dedication and an official reading of the proclamation will take place on campus at 4:00pm.

All Northwestern alum and Enid residents are invited to attend the ceremony on Tuesday. A group alumni photo will be taken in front of the Ranger statue during the event.

Northwestern-Enid officially opened its campus at 2929 East Randolph as “NWOSU” on July 1, 1996. NWOSU delivers higher education to the students and residents of northwest Oklahoma. The school facility houses classrooms, computer labs, a library, offices, a bookstore and much more.

Northwestern-Enid offers bachelor's degrees in accounting, business administration, computer science, E-commerce, education, general studies, history, nursing, political science, psychology, social work, sociology and technical management. They also offer master's degree programs.

On Wednesday, April 19, they will present the “Baseball, Hotdogs, and Apple Pie” alumni event at David Allen Ball Park. The Rangers will play SNU at 7:00pm. The first 120 children, 13 and under, receive a free t-shirt.
