Wesley D. Hessel passed away April 23, 2026 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 97.
Wesley Dee Hessel was born at home on June 1, 1928, in Hitchcock, Oklahoma to David and Cora Hessel. He grew up attending Hitchcock Public Schools until the family moved to Okeene. His junior and senior years of high school were at Okeene High School, graduating in 1946. He married Ruby Dierksen on July 2, 1950, in Enid. They established their home in Enid.
He is survived by his children; daughters Helen and Sharon (Lee); sons, Raymond (Susan), Gary (Kathy), Marvin (RaDonna); 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren many loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, brothers, son-in-law.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2026, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel.
