A Celebration of Life service for Wayne L. Van Hauen, age 81, of Lahoma, will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Wayne was born on May 18, 1944, in Douglas, Oklahoma, to Henry and Elvada (Johnson) Van Hauen and passed away peacefully at his home on October 7, 2025.

Wayne's early years were spent in various Oklahoma communities where he attended school in Douglas, Enid, Hunter, Renfrow, and Wakita before graduating from Medford High School in 1962. In November 1966, he answered the call to serve his country and was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving until 1968.

After his military service, Wayne began a long career at Vance Air Force Base, working in various roles, including Produce Manager at the base commissary. He retired on medical leave in 1986. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and remained a man of quiet faith throughout his life.

Wayne married Myrna Griffin in 1970, and though they later divorced in 2000, they shared many meaningful years together. In November of 2002, he married Carolyn Newman, and they remained together until her passing in 2010.

Wayne is survived by his two sons, Travis Van Hauen and wife Sundy and Justin Van Hauen and wife Kory; stepsons Marty and wife Angie, and Donnie and wife Becki. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings: brothers Earl Van Hauen, and sisters Joyce Evans, Janet Fausett, Connie Williams, and Mary Kruse.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Judy Crider, Lois Shipley, and Lora Burchfield, brothers George and Thomas Van Hauen.

Wayne will be remembered as a devoted father, proud veteran, and a kind-hearted man with deep roots in his family and community.

Memorials may be made in Wayne's honor to Wounded Warrior with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
