Funds Available For United Way Venture Grants

ENID, OK _ The United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma is making $16,225.00 available for Venture Grants for area non-profits. This funding is in addition to the regular allocations provided to the 16 United Way member agencies. Grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000 and will be awarded by July 1, 2018.

“We try to budget money each year for Venture Grants targeting identified social service needs in the community.” reports Dan Schiedel, Executive Director of the agency. Applicants are required to present measurable data or other indicators that strongly identify the need for the service in the community, and measure the impact their program will have in changing those numbers.
-
“Funding for Venture Grants is very competitive,” says Schiedel. “We are looking for programs or projects which are effective in creating sustainable change in the realm of human and/or social services.” Applications which address the underlying causes of a problem, and those which will impact the largest number of individuals are strongly encouraged. “We want to see lasting changes in individuals, families, and our community.”

Any non-profit 501(c)(3) human service organization in Garfield, Grant, Major, Kingfisher, Alfalfa, Blaine, Kay, Noble or Logan county is eligible to apply. The due date for Venture grant applications is April 30, 2018.
