Celebration of Life Service for Shirley King will be Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am in Anderson-Burris Chapel with Chaplain Stephen Samples officiating. Private family burial will follow at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Shirley was born on June 6, 1936 in Retrop, Oklahoma to Ruben Rush and Vera Ellen (Estes) Hare and passed away July 29, 2026 in Enid. Oklahoma.
She grew up in Retrop and graduated from Retrop High School. Shirley worked for several years as a secretary in Oklahoma City. She met James King and they married June 18, 1963 in Waukegan, Illinois. They lived in many places while Jim served in the military. In 1982, they moved to Enid, Oklahoma to be closer to family. She enjoyed being a demonstration person in different retail stores. Shirley enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey; sister, Pat Winingham Senters; and brother, Danny Hare.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim; son and wife, Daniel and Kathy King; four grandsons, two great grandsons; nieces, and other relatives.
