All Results Negative In Drive Thru Testing

ENID, OK - The Garfield County Health Department has not had any positive cases of COVID-19 from their drive thru testing. There were 98 COVID-19 tests conducted at the satellite testing site on April 3, 2020 by the Garfield County Health Department. All 98 tests from the satellite testing event came back with a NEGATIVE result. They will update as their infectious disease team and state Epidemiologists continue to review new test results.

The Garfield County Health Department will be continuing drive up testing for symptomatic clients at their office (2501 Mercer Drive). Testing will now be conducted by appointment, please call (580) 233-0650 to schedule an appointment if you would like a test and believe you meet the criteria.

To be eligible for testing, a person must be 16 or older, and currently experiencing a fever of 100.4F or greater, or have a cough or shortness of breath or be in close contact to a laboratory-confirmed positive case within the last 14 days. Clients age 16 and 17 must have parental or guardian consent.

There is no charge for testing and does not require insurance. We ask that individuals remain in their vehicle at all times.

A physician’s order is not needed in order to be tested through the health department’s curbside testing option. However, established patients seeking testing are encouraged to contact their primary care provider.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and need emergency assistance, please call ahead to your local emergency room so they can meet you outside of the facility to beginning the screening process. If symptoms are minor, or you are not in distress, please avoid using an emergency room for being screened and tested for COVID-19.

    I’m in the high risk category. I have COPD and Hypertension, BUT I don’t run “traditional” fevers. My body temp falls. Been that way since 1997 when I contracted a massive viral infection in three of my body systems. So if I come to get a test, showing most symptoms BUT a RISING temp, I wouldn’t qualify?
