The City of Enid Tree Board and the Tree Bank Foundation are partnering to provide Enid residents with free trees as part of the Great Tree Giveaway program. 100 trees (25 Chinese Pistache, 25 Shumard Oaks and 50 Shantung Maples) will be available for the public to receive at a tree giveaway held on Thursday October 8, 2015 from 8:00 am-6:00 pm each day (while supplies last) at the City of Enid Service Center located at 1500 West Poplar.
-
Trees are available on a first come first serve basis and we will close event early if all trees are issued before announced time of operations. Limit 5 trees per household.
-
This will be the 8th tree giveaway event for Enid resulting in community beautification, cleaner air, greater storm water management, personal health and economic growth for Enid. The Tree Bank Foundation will distribute 1,000 free trees to 17 communities throughout the state of Oklahoma during the month of October. The Great Tree Giveaway program has distributed more than 140,000 trees to 60 different Oklahoma communities since its inception in 2008.
-
Donations of any value are greatly appreciated.  A suggested donation of $5.00 per tree is requested by the Enid Tree Board to assist with the annual Enid Arbor Day Celebration events.
-
The Tree Bank Foundation was founded in 1987 by volunteer supporters interested in promoting education, planting, care and beautification of our state through a wide network of organizations and individuals committed to distributing trees. Its mission is “to promote and plant trees to enrich Oklahoma communities”. The value of the more than 220,000 trees brought to the state through the Tree Bank has been estimated to be more than $240 million at maturity.  For more information, call Stephanie Carr at  (580)-616-7211 or Nicki Largent at (405) 630-9152.
