Each year the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission plans and organizes a comprehensive tribute that promotes diversity, equality, and education consistent with Dr. King's dream, work, and legacy. This year is the 60th anniversary of the march on Washington. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission announces the following celebratory events: MARCH: The march is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Those interested in attending should meet outside the Stride Bank Center. PROGRAM: The celebratory program begins at 2 p.m. at the Stride Bank Center.

Matriarch of the Trapp Family Singers, Maria von Trapp (1905-1987) is a woman of passionate faith and uncompromising determination. Her story is richer and deeper than you might imagine. Step back in time to meet this funny, lively and unforgettable woman via this entertaining Living History program. Maria von Trapp is portrayed by Elsa Wolff. Workshops at 6 10:30 & 12 noon. Evening presentation at 7 pm. Admission to all Chautauqua events is always free.

Open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the special Lantern Tours starting at 7:00 p.m., with a new group starting every 20 minutes. The last group will begin at 9:00 p.m.! Some tickets available. Northern Oklahoma Development Authority (NODA)/ DBA Cherokee Strip Transit, a rural public transportation system is holding an open forum for the community's input into our Section 5311 transportation plan as in the previous years. This will allow for ideas and input that may be included in our application process. The forum will take place Wednesday, March 6 at 10:00am at the Northern Oklahoma Development Authority, 2901 N. Van Buren.
