David R. Swadley

June 28, 1941 - January 30, 2021

David R. Swadley entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven on January 30, 2021. He was 79 years old. He loved our Lord and was always eager to go to church. He was devoted to his family and loved to play horsey with the grandchildren. David looked forward to going to the mall to “walk” and then have coffee with his friends. Of course, he called his sisters almost daily.

Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2021, at First Assembly of God with Pastors Dan Barrick and Steve Lance officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M at the funeral home.

David was born June 28, 1941 at Council Hill, OK to David and Minnie Weaver Swadley. He grew up on a farm near Council Hill and graduated from Checotah High School. Then attended Okmulgee Tech for automotive mechanics. David married Jacqueline Fulton on February 3, 1968 in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Enid where David was an aircraft mechanic for Vance Air Force Base for 42 years. He was a member of Central Assembly of God Enid for 38 years and considered Enid First Assembly of God his home church for the next 12 years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers baby Ken and Leroy, sister Norma June Dawson, and a daughter Davetta “Heidi” Fesmire on January 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, daughter Chrissie Counce and son Tim Swadley, son-in-law, Scott Fesmire; nine grandchildren, Arissa, Grace, Abi, Lizzie, Lainie, Bethany, Jack, Ella and Augustus; his loving sisters, Carol (Bill) Daughterty and Nina (David) Kindred; many nieces, nephews and friends.
