The graveside service for Eldon Ray Richey, 85 year-old Enid resident will be Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00AM in White Cemetery, Hunter, OK. Pastor Carroll Still officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Eldon was born November 15, 1934 in the family home in Kremlin to William “Bill” and Mary (Taylor) Richey and died Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Oklahoma City. He attended Kremlin schools and graduated with the class of 1952. He then attended Oklahoma A&M. He volunteered for the United States Marine Corps and put school on hold while he proudly served his country. On December 23, 1956, he married Faye Thomas in the Hunter Christian Church. The couple made their home at Camp Pendleton, where Eldon Was Stationed.

After his active service, the couple returned to Enid. He went back to Oklahoma A&M, now known as Oklahoma State University, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education. He then began a teaching career at O.T. Autry for 20 years. During this time he also farmed.

He and Faye were long-time members of Willow Road Christian Church. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and the American Legion.

After his retirement he enjoyed collecting clocks, and attending the Wheatheart Program in Pond Creek.

He is survived by son, Russel Richey and wife, Lela of Castle Rock, CO; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandon Richey; brother, John Richey of Wichita; sister, Donna Richey of Wakita and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye and brother, Robert.
