United Way of Enid & NW Oklahoma Launches, “One Hundred Donors for $100,000”
-
Enid, OK - United Way of Enid & NW Oklahoma has created a year-end challenge to move closer toward its goal of $750,000. These much needed funds go to 15 non-profit agencies in our community to help serve others. These agencies care for the hopeless, homeless, helpless and hungry in our city and region.
-
“2017 has been a very challenging year for our kids, single mothers and families in Enid and NW Oklahoma. Thousands of our neighbors, friends and strangers are struggling to clothe and feed themselves, find shelter and make ends meet,” stated 2017-2018 United Way Campaign Chairs, Mike and Sara Stuber.
-
“Together with our campaign chairs, we decided to do more to help raise awareness and financial support for our United Way partner agencies. So we created a year-end campaign challenge to find 100 businesses, individual donors and groups to help us with reaching our goal,” added Dan Schiedel, Executive Director of United Way of Enid & NW Oklahoma.
-
Schiedel is encouraging those who have made a commitment for the 2017-2018 campaign to make an additional gift and challenge first time donors and teams to help raise $1,000 each. Consider inspiring a neighbor, a friend or a colleague or maybe start an office challenge.
-
The Stubers added, “As we live and give United we can help change our community for the better and help those who have the greatest need. Working together we can changes lives and save people; we can help others with a hand up so they can lead themselves out of poverty and despair.”
-
The fifteen United Way partner agencies are: Booker T. Washington Center, Cimarron Council Boy Scouts, American Red Cross serving NW Oklahoma, Community Development Support Association, Catholic Charities, Consumer Credit Counseling, Denny Price Family YMCA, Garfield County Child Advocacy Council, Hedges Speech and Hearing, Human Services Alliance of Greater Enid, Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma, RSVP, The Salvation Army, YWCA of Enid, and Youth and Family Services.
