College Applications Seminar at Public Library

ENID, OK - High school students applying for college and their parents are invited to attend “What You Need to Know to Apply for College” at the Enid Public Library. The discussion panel will be held on Monday, September 23rd at 5:30 PM.

Representatives from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Oklahoma State University will be here to talk about the admissions process and financial aid. They will also be answering any questions students and their parents may have.

Enid High School Information

Enid High School began as a tent school shortly after the Oklahoma land run in 1893. EHS had various early locations throughout Enid including an opera house and a Baptist church. From 1906 to 1912, classes were held in the Lincoln school building, which had been located at 600 N. Independence.

In 1912, the high school's current building was constructed. In 1943, a fire damaged the building causing it to be closed. From 1943 to 1948, classes were held at Emerson and Longfellow Junior Highs.

The restored building began classes in 1948 and a gym was added in 1950. The high school auditorium was added in 1953, and a detached music building in 1991

The food court was expanded in 2005 and the University Center was completed in 2013. Work started on the Enid High School Gymnasium and Performing Arts Center in 2018.
