ENID, OK - The United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma Board of Directors announced today the approval of a special $100,000 grant to the Denny Price YMCA. This funding will assist with startup costs for the YMCA’s new Winter Wellness Center on Willow in North Enid.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous support from United Way,” said Greg Shamburg, CEO of the Denny Price YMCA. “This $100,000 investment will contribute directly to our Capital Campaign and help bring vital health and wellness services to the Enid community.”
As part of the investment, United Way will receive naming rights for two dedicated program rooms at the new facility. These spaces will host fitness classes, wellness workshops, social activities, and collaborative programs—many of which align directly with United Way’s mission to improve lives and strengthen communities.
In addition to the fitness and wellness spaces, the renovation will also include a new RSVP Senior Center, providing a dedicated hub for older adults in the area. RSVP, one of United Way’s valued Partner Agencies, will use the center to coordinate volunteer opportunities, social engagement programs, and services that enhance the quality of life for local seniors.
“We’re incredibly excited about this partnership and the opportunities the new facilities will bring to our senior community,” said Christy Baker, CEO of RSVP. “Having a modern, welcoming space where older adults can gather, volunteer, and stay active will have a tremendous impact on the lives of those we serve.”
“This is an impactful opportunity to recognize United Way’s longstanding commitment to creating lasting, positive change in our region,” said Alex Mantz, President of the United Way of Enid & NW OK Board of Directors. “This investment ensures that our impact is not only significant but deeply integrated into the future of community health and wellness in Enid.”
The new Winter Wellness Center YMCA facility is expected to play a key role in strengthening the community by expanding access to health, wellness, and social support services for adults and seniors of all economic groups and backgrounds.

Nice ! It is wonderful to see vacant buildings and spaces repurposed and renovated for future use. Why build new buildings when existing buildings can continue to be renovated and used again. Thank you YMCA! Looking good in the neighborhood!
