Wanda Elmeta Gungoll

December 25, 1926 - October 1, 2021

Celebration of life service for Wanda Gungoll will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday October 5, 2021 at Willow View United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Waukomis Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Anderson Burris Funeral Home.

Born December 25, 1926 in Covington, Oklahoma the best Christmas blessing of William Emerson and Mary Elizabeth Harris and left this world on October 1, 2021 surrounded by family and friends in her home.

The family moved to the Pioneer community 4 years later and lived in the home on the farm that her Grandparents claimed in the Land Run and where her mother, Mollie Dillingham was raised. Wanda attended Pioneer School and graduated in 1944. She then went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Enid until 1947 when she married her sweetheart Edward O. “Bud” Gungoll. Bud and Wanda had four children Rodney Ed, Bradley Alan, Leslie Wade, and Claudia Ann. Rod, Brad and Claudia graduated from Pioneer School and Oklahoma State University. The family were members of Pleasant Valley Christian Church and worked together farming and raising livestock. Bud and Wanda were active in PTA and 4-H leadership in the Pioneer area. Bud and Wanda moved to Enid in 1974.

Bud and Wanda then joined and were active in Willow View United Methodist Church in Enid. Wanda was a member of the 39ers Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and participated in Church activities.

Wanda was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority in which she served in all offices and was named Woman of the Year and Sweetheart of the Year. She loved to entertain in her home and the domino games were legend. She and her sister Irene often played cards and dominoes with friends and a large time was had by all.

Bud and Wanda loved to travel and visited all states in the USA including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Holy Lands. Each year they took the kids on a family vacation to see different place and meet relatives.

After the death of Bud in 1997 she continued to live in her home in Enid until her death.

She was predeceased by her husband Bud, children Leslie Wade, Rodney Ed, Claudia Ann, sister Irene Green and brother David Emerson Harris. Surviving her are her son Bradley Alan and wife Leah, their children Wade, Will, And Wyatt, Sue Gungoll and her sons Guy Wade and Grant Edward and her granddaughter Mollie Bymaster and her husband John as well as 7 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
