The Vintage Barn Reopening in Enid

ENID, OK - The Vintage Barn will be reopening its doors soon in a prime new location in Enid with even more to offer than ever before! The store is planning for a soft opening Thursday, Nov 1st and will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00-4:00 located at 1100 N. Van Buren.
-
Owner, Sherri Curtis, has included once silent contributor, Julie Matula, as a partner with her own line of custom hand crafted furniture and home décor under the name of “Restored Inspirations LLC” along with talented new partner, Carmenia Passey of “No. 5 Findings”.  Carmenia also creates her own unique style of furniture and home decor and will be hosting painting classes.
-
The new location will be adding a few select vendors that fit the style of the store (more to come)! All three ladies have their own individual flair, and they flow seamlessly with one another.  The store is a one of a kind boutique that offers custom, handcrafted furniture and home décor.  It is a local grass roots, small business with an amazing talent for transforming, designing and decorating!

The store offers a unique local shopping experience with a comforting “at home feel” where one room of beautiful, one of a kind, reasonably priced pieces and décor rolls beautifully into the next. The store’s theme is repurposed and vintage home designs.

About the Owners
-
Sherri grew up in a very modest home and worked with her grandmother as a little girl, learning very quickly how to turn second hand furniture into beautiful treasures. Bringing life to vintage and abandoned items, turning them into beautiful pieces of work and bringing smiles to people’s faces is her passion! The Vintage Barn is a lifelong dream she is thrilled to share. About four years ago, Sherri and her husband turned an old salvage yard off of the historic Chisolm Trail on highway 81 into a charming country home for their family. They restored the barn on the property into a quaint shabby chic boutique filled with Sherri’s work. She has an amazing talent for staging and decorating!

As many in the world would view things, Julie had a very successful life and career living in SOCAL. Her world was turned completely upside down when her husband died suddenly of a massive heart attack at the age of 48. She tried to keep up the lifestyle and career for at least three years, but it got to be too much. Her parents brought her back to Enid and somehow someway, she started buying furniture and refinishing it even though she had never done that before.
Stumbling across the Vintage Barn, truly a diamond in the rough, after moving from California to Enid, Oklahoma, Julie realized the beauty of the shop and began to spread the word about this special place. Because of her deep belief in what Sherri had to offer, she began promoting The Vintage Barn through social media and was encouraged to introduce her own inspired designs to the store. Things really took off!
She thought she once had it all, felt so lost after her tragedies, yet was given this completely new opportunity to express herself in a way she never had. God has shown her through her own experiences in life and by restoring forgotten treasures that He has given her Restored Inspirations personally and in her work as well! May it bless you all! Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Carmenia is a born and raised Enidite who greatly appreciates anything Oklahoma, family, friends, prairie flat land, farms, cows and big Oklahoma trucks! She has a passion for finding and restoring the most amazing items. She has been doing this for years and is constantly looking into the latest new trends. She has been running sales out of her home once a month in Waukomis and has also begun teaching painting classes, sharing with others the new techniques she has learned including finger painting lessons, showing people how to make their own canvas prints. She also has great marketing ideas and will be bringing her painting classes and natural talent to the new Enid Location as “NO. 5 Findings”

Curtis, I will be forever grateful. When I moved to Enid 3 years ago last October, my precious Tinky cat got out of the house on the first day. I was driving around, calling her, doing everything I could think of since she had no sight, smell or sound clues that were familiar. You published that she was lost, and on the 3rd day I received a call from a vet saying that a cat angel had brought her in. Had found her lying near Oakwood and Willow. When the angel got out and put Tinky in her pickup, Tinky just immediately crawled into her lap. I was notified because of the information on her chip. I was crying on the phone, and the angel said she would bring her right over. When she arrived with Tinky in her arms, I had to sit down before I could hold her as my legs were turning into rubber. Because of you, God has given me this little girl to me twice. You changed my life.
