New Public Art Painting

ENID, OK - Weber Player at Dense Comfort Solutions has been wanting to get into the downtown public art process for a while now. He finally took it upon himself to commission his niece to design and paint a mural on the side of their business.
-
Player hired artist, Emmy Clark, to create the design. He let her run with the ideas without giving her any direction. Clark researched Enid and other pieces of public art in town before coming up with her final design.
-
Clark presented her first idea to Player and he was was so impressed he told her to get going. Getting the design on the side of the building became a family affair. Clark's sisters and other family members helped out where they could. The design was completed over the weekend from start to finish.
-
Emmy Clark is a sophomore and visual communications major at OU. Her prior experience was wall paintings inside of homes with kid murals. As far as Player knows, the mural doesn't have a name. He calls it Spinning Wheel.
-
The centerpiece of the design is a bicycle wheel which ties in with Enid's bike culture. Enid hosts the Criterium as well as other bike races. We also have a bike route around the city and our new walking/biking trails. The background of the mural is a colorful sunburst. All of the elements and colors mix well with all of the existing murals in town.
-
Clark had this to say about the design,"In this age of technology and fast-paced life, the vintage bike brings a sense of nostalgia, peace, happiness, and freedom. The sun's rays represent the beautiful Oklahoma sunsets."
-
You can drop by and see the mural on the west side of Dense Comfort Solutions and Dense Mechanical at 409 E. Broadway. Be sure and share your selfies #emmyclarkmural.
