Oklahoma Horseshoe Champions Crowned

ENID, OK - The Oklahoma State Singles Horseshoe Tournament was held August 31 and September 1 in Enid, Oklahoma. Competitors came from all over the state and competed in the categories of men, women and junior pitchers. There was class play for all abilities, with Championship play on Sunday.

The Horseshoe Tournament was held at south Meadowlake Park over the Labor Day weekend. They began with a grand reopening of the Enid courts. Enid Parks Department put in a lot of work updating the original courts that were built in 1987.

The 2019 Oklahoma State Horseshoe Pitching Champions are Logan Ross-Junior Girl; Al Ross-Elder’s; Sarah Hicks-Women’s; Gary Bearpaw-Men’s; Walker Forrester- Junior Boy.

Meadowlake Park has 16 courts which are completely ADA accessible because they are not only used by the Enid Area Club but also by the Special Olympics. They are located at 1200 W. Rupe (South of lake).

Horseshoe pitching boasts of being one of the few sports that has a world champion for men, women, boys and girls and can still be played in one's backyard. It can be played by one or more and by the young as well as the old.
