Shirley Eck

The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Shirley Eck, 83, of Enid will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday November 08, 2019 in the Emanuel Enid Church with Ted Kuschel officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born on March 05, 1936 to Prentice and Dorothy Streck Leslie in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on November 05, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High Scholl in 1954. She then attended John Brown University. She then returned to Enid and worked in banking and then as a receptionist in a Doctor’s office. On June 06, 1960 she married Edwin Eck in the Grace Mennonite Church of Enid. She then spent the next twenty-three years with the Enid Public School system serving as a Teacher’s Aide. She worked as a teacher’s aide at the Cherokee Park School for eighteen years. She then transferred to the Enid Public Schools where she retired after five years. She enjoyed sewing and the beauty of flowers, but most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Eck, of Enid, sons, Leslie Eck, of Keller, Texas, and Kenny Eck, of Ponca City, OK., grandchildren, Joseph Eck, Justin Eck, and Haley Eck, five great-grandchildren, and sisters Linda Hays and Sandy Schrock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Robert Leslie.
