Robert "Bob" Alan Arterburn

May 16, 1953 - February 20, 2025

Robert (Bob) Alan Arterburn joined his heavenly family on February 20, 2025, in Wichita, KS at the age of 71. Bob was born in Enid, OK on May 16, 1953, the sole son of Eleanor Francis (Ciskowski) and James Douglas Arterburn.

There will be a visitation on Friday, February 28th from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Medford, OK followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on March 1, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Medford followed by burial at St. Mary Calvary Cemetery.

Bob grew up in Medford, OK with his beloved six sisters and many cousins. Attending St. Mary Catholic School through sixth grade and graduating from Medford High School in 1971. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University receiving a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and Biomedical Electronics.

Initially stationed at the Medford Plant, Bob began a 4-decade career with Koch Industries specializing in pipeline safety. He held many roles before being transferred to the corporate headquarters in Wichita, KS where he spent a quarter century designing and implementing control systems for stations across North America. Becoming a go-to expert among his colleagues and a trusted guide for young engineers.

Bob had a love of music and a beautiful voice. Some of his fondest memories being performing in chorus groups in school and around his community. This love of music continued throughout his life, often exposing others to new songs and artists in the hope of expanding their musical interests.

In his younger years Bob journeyed across the country during harvest with his family, operating a combine. Ingraining in him a lifelong spirit of exploration that he passed to his son. Taking Aaron to many of the places he visited in his youth, as well as exploring countless new ones together. However, he most frequently reminisced upon the many excursions taken to view the natural fall beauty of the Northeast with his spouse Janine (Butcher) Arterburn.

Bob is survived by his son, Aaron James Arterburn of Seattle, WA; sisters: Peggy Cooper and husband Chip of Bristow, OK; Karen Junghanns and husband Carter of Bixby, OK; Joan Kretchmar and husband Randy; Lisa Skrdla; Cindy Pratt all of Medford, OK; and brother-in-law Albert Taber of Stillwater, OK. As well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Eleanor; sister, Barbara Taber; brother-in-law, Ronny Pratt; and nephew Chad Taber.
