-
Set in the East Village of New York City in the late 1980’s, RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, Jonathan Larson's RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create under the shadows of poverty, addiction and HIV/AIDS. Its uplifting and inspiring message of love, hope and perseverance against unspeakable odds makes RENT as relevant today as it was in its theatrical debut twenty years ago.
-
Winner of the 1996 TONY Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop culture phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates across generations.
-
Tickets can be purchased from the theatre’s box office at 221 N. Independence, by calling (580) 234-2307, or online at gaslighttheatre.org.
