Raymond Martinez

June 15, 1930 - October 26, 2022

The Christian Burial Services celebrating and honoring the life of Raymond Martinez, 92, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday November 2, 2022 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Rosary services will be held 6:00 P.M. Tuesday November 1, 2022 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Raymond was born June 15, 1930, to Antonio “Tony” and Avelina Rico Martinez in Newton, Kansas and passed from this life October 26, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Newton, later moving to Wichita, Kansas and Rotan, Texas where he married his wife Christina in 1949 in Ruby, Texas the couple moved to Enid, Oklahoma where they raised their family. He had an incredible worth ethic. He worked for Enid Public Schools for over 18 years and retired as the Head Custodian. When he returned home in the evening he would continue working outside, he absolutely loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Reinaldo Martinez, Raymond Martinez Jr. Joe Martinez, Delores Moore and husband Ron, and Teresa Martinez, all of Enid and Evelyn Marquez, of Oklahoma City; with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cristina his parents, his sisters Mary Chambers, Cruz Lemon, Antonia Rojas, and Beatrice Martinez; and brothers, Victor, Tony, Joe, and Bill Martinez.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
