She graduated from Enid High School in 1947 and then attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU today) where she graduated from the Intensive Business School. When Jim retired from Phillips University, Jim and Paula hopped in their trailer with their dog and played many golf courses all over Oklahoma. They both loved being outdoors. One of their great accomplishments together was building a Cathedralite geodesic dome home in Enid, which Paula lived in for 35 years. Paula also held several jobs as a bookkeeper for local accountants. She was a member of Central Christian Church since high school.
