Funeral services for Paul L. Stephens, 90 of Enid, will be Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Eidon officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery.

Paul was born on December 23, 1926 in Hiwissi, Arkansas to Clifford and Emmline Cargile Stephens and died on July 7, 2017 in Enid.

He grew up in Anderson, Missouri. At the age of 15, Paul hitchhiked to California in 1940. He joined the Merchant Marines during World War II, serving in the Pacific. Paul married Laura Arnett on December 9, 1947 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They lived in Missouri, Kansas, and moved to Piedmont, Oklahoma in 2002. Paul pastored a Hispanic church in Pratt, Kansas. Paul and Laura moved to Enid in 2015. He was a lifetime member of the Assemblies of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Paul is survived by his wife, Laura of the home; three daughters and their husbands, Paula and Robert Marks of Ozark, MO, Drusilla and Wayne Vinson of Sweeny, TX, Carla and John James of Enid; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; six brothers, Junior, LeRoy Larry, Robert, Bob, and Joe Stephens; 3 sisters, Maxine Luellen, Irene Williams, Mary Ann Finney; many nieces and nephews and friends.
