Paul Ashby

September 09, 1947 - July 16, 2021

The funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Paul Ashby, 73, of Enid, OK will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 20, 2021, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will follow at the Waukomis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Paul was born to Chester and Pauline (Lukenbaugh) Ashby September 19, 1947, in Enid, and passed away July 16, 2021.

He was raised on the family farm in Lahoma, OK and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1965. True to his nature, he went straight to work.

He worked for Parker Manufacturing as a welder for two years and then joined the team at Atwoods for the next five years. In 1972 he began his career with Union Equity working in Elevator Z until his retirement in 1997. He met the love of his life, Janet Fallis in 1970 and they were joined in marriage September 1, 1972, at Lahoma Christian Church.

He and Janet owned and operated Ashbys’ Antique Mall with his two brothers, Ronald and Elvin, and their wives, Carol and Dianna for 28 years, closing the business in 2019. He was a very smart businessman and very savvy in the stock market.

He was an avid bass fisherman, rarely missing the beginning of spawning season at Canton Lake. He enjoyed spending time camping and boating with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, of 49 years, his two children, Troy, and his wife Cayce, of Dallas, TX and Sandra, of Denver, CO, his two grandchildren Owen and Claire, and nieces and nephews

Memorials may be made in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society- Oklahoma Chapter with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds. The family encourages friends and family to donate blood to the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
