Norman Dean Ayers

November 5, 1929 - March 18, 2022

Mass of Christian Burial for Norman Ayers will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Reverend Mark Mason celebrant. Private family committal will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hennessey. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening March 25, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Norman was born on November 5, 1929 in Borger, Texas to Nathanial and Lydia (Mackey_ Ayers and died on March 18, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.

He grew up in Skellytown, Texas and moved to Marshall, Oklahoma, graduating from Marshall High School. Norman served in the U.S. Navy and following his discharge, went to Oklahoma A&M College, graduating with an associate degree in auto mechanics. On August 26, 1954, he married Velma Ann Patocka in Hennessey and they made their home in Enid. Norman was a mechanic and partner with BNB Garage. He later worked at Geo E. Failing until his retirement. Norman was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris Seefeldt.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; children, Randy Ayers, Bruce (Geri) Ayers, Dennis (Nancy) Ayers, and Laura (Lester) Vaughan; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
