Nola was born near Drummond, Oklahoma on August 5, 1931, to Noel and Josie (Moyers) Hedges and passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 17, 2025. She attended Drummond Public Schools and graduated in 1949 before attending Phillips University and graduating in 1953 with a BS in Education.
She married her high-school sweetheart, Duane Hill on May 17, 1953. They were happily married for 51 years before Duane passed away in August of 2004. One of the joys of her life was teaching elementary school for 27 years where she never had a student that she didn't love. Nola loved being a farmer's wife and working alongside her husband and family as well as cooking for many.
After retirement, she enjoyed working closely with Duane, cooking and caring for anyone in need. She was a life-long member of the Drummond United Church of Christ.
Nola was preceded in death by her husband Duane, sisters Geraldine Gallagher and Margaret Shreve.
She is survived by her two children Rick Hill and Jan Hill, both of Enid and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her adopted foreign exchange students, and their families: Zeni and Bardha and their children Emma and Dean of Michigan, Tony and Linda and their children Aril, Mik, and Lanika of Kosova, and trusted friend and loving caregiver Ricardo Beltran.
The family would like to thank Grace Care and Complete Hospice for their loving care of Nola.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the charity of the donor's choosing.
