NOC to host Chick-fil-A Classic at Stride Center

ENID, OK - Northern Oklahoma College and Chick-fil-A have partnered to host the Chick-fil-A Basketball Classic Nov. 14-15 at the Stride Center in Enid.

Teams include NOC Enid, NOC Tonkawa, National Park (AR), Garden City Community College (women), New Mexico (men).

The schedule is as follows:

Nov. 14: NOC Tonkawa Lady Mavs vs. National Park, 1 p.m., NOC Tonkawa Mavs vs. National Park, 3 p.m., NOC Enid Lady Jets vs. Garden City, 5 p.m., and NOC Enid Jets vs. New Mexico, 7 p.m.

Nov. 15: NOC Tonkawa Lady Mavs vs. Garden City, 1 p.m., NOC Tonkawa Mavs vs. New Mexico, 3 p.m., NOC Enid Lady Jets vs. National Park, 5 p.m., and NOC Enid Jets vs. National Park, 7 p.m.

Chick-fil-A’s Connie Sturgeon-Hart said she is pleased to help with the basketball classic.

“Chick-fil-A tries to be active in the community and we see this as an opportunity to continue that community involvement and at the same time work with NOC,” she said. “We have an outstanding relationship with NOC and are looking forward to working with them on this basketball tournament.”

Kevin Boryczki, General Manager of the Stride Center added, “We are excited to be partnering with Northern Oklahoma College to host the Chick-fil-A Classic at the Stride Center. There are some great teams participating in this event and we can’t wait to watch two great days of basketball.”

Spectra by Comcast Spectacor provides Venue Management and Ticketing & Fan Engagement at the Stride Center.

“Thank you to NOC Enid, Chick-fil-A and the Stride Center for making this event possible, giving residents another activity to choose from that weekend,” Visit Enid director Marcy Jarrett said. “It helps Enid’s economy through visiting teams staying in our hotels and eating in our restaurants, and it will bring visitors to Enid for perhaps the first time. We encourage all fans to enjoy a basketball weekend in downtown Enid.”

NOC Athletic Director Jeremy Hise added, “We are very excited to partner with great community leaders for this basketball classic. Chick-fil-A, the Stride Center and VisitEnid have always been fun to work with. Without their help, this classic would not be possible. We have an excellent group of teams and coaches coming to Enid that weekend. I think basketball fans will be impressed with the quality of competition. We are hopeful that this will become an annual event that the community will support.”

This is the second year for the event.

The associate degree fulfills lower-division course work which is applicable towards a bachelor’s degree.
