PRESS RELEASE
-
ENID, OK - On November 1st, 2016, at 6:44 A.M., the Enid Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a subject shooting at another subject.  The shooting occurred at 1501 S. 2nd, upon arrival, police discovered that a subject named Jeffrey Johns age 53, had multiple gunshots wounds and police learned the suspect was a Michael Shriver age 39, who had fled the scene in a white Ford four door flatbed pick-up.
-
Police immediately began searching the area for Shriver and at 11:24 A.M., police located his pick-up parked at the corner of Fillmore and West Broadway.  Past Police records had shown Shriver previously using the address 1501 West Randolph, which was located half a block from where his vehicle parked.
-
Police then set up a perimeter around the residence and police determined Mr. Shriver was hiding underneath the residence.  At one point Shriver crawled from under the residence and when he saw the police officers, he immediately crawled back underneath the house. Police gave Shriver commands for more than an hour to come out and surrender, but Shriver refused to do so.  A police K-9 was then deployed and Shriver began fighting with the dog and the K-9 bit Shriver.  Shriver still continued to refuse to come out from underneath the house.
-
Enid Police SWAT team then deployed gas and Shriver continued to refuse to exit from underneath the house. Police then determined approximately thirty minutes later that Shriver appeared unresponsive, so officers crawled under the house and removed him and LIFE immediately began CPR.  Shriver was transported the Integris Bass where he was later pronounced dead at 2:23 P.M..
-
While searching underneath the residence where Shriver was hiding, police found a duffle bag and on the ground beside the duffle bag was drug paraphernalia (pipe), scales and narcotics that presumptively tested positive for methamphetamine.  At one point, police observed smoke coming from underneath the residence, while giving commands for Shriver to surrender. It is believed, Shriver may have been using the narcotics, during that time.
-
The victim of the shooting was shot three times and remains in the hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

People make bad decisions and or choices these choices do not in any way reveal who a person really is Michael Shriver was a big hearted wonderful person and human being he gave me and my children a place to stay rent free till I could get on my feet ask anybody who knows him before you judge him for this one act of unclear thought process look at the many many many great things that he has done and I implore you to keep negative comments out of the lime light in respect for his family who are obviously grieving at this time
