Montie Lou Winters, age 91, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Garland Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Benson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends during a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.
Montie was born on January 22, 1934, in Loyal, Oklahoma, to Earl and Iva (Smith) Hamil. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1952, where she was actively involved in sports and developed a strong sense of determination and discipline. On January 22, 1954, Montie married Bart Ryan, and later married Wesley Winters in 1973.
Montie began her career as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell in Enid before transitioning to Pioneer Telephone in Kingfisher. She later worked with Jack Choate Insurance and returned to Enid to continue her career with the Frantz Agency and Messer-Bowers Insurance, from which she eventually retired. Throughout her career, Montie was known for her dedication and work ethic.
A devoted member of Garland Road Baptist Church, Montie was actively involved in various church activities and treasured the friendships she formed there. She was also a member of the National Association of Insurance Women.
Montie had a wide range of hobbies, from water skiing and snow skiing to golfing and riding motorcycles. She also loved to travel and explore new places. Montie was also an avid gardener. She took immense pride in tending to her yard, ensuring it was always beautifully maintained.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ryan Long, and husband Garry of Claremore; two grandchildren, Lynn Ketcher and wife Alyson of Trophy Club, TX, and Chase Park of Claremore; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Hamil of Enid; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Montie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Iva Hamil, and two brothers, Raymond and Dorman Hamil.

Montie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous and loving spirit, and her strong commitment to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
