Michael was born on February 7, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Gerald and Joanne Bender and passed away on April 8, 2019 in Enid.

Michael grew up in Pennsylvania and Illinois. He graduated high school in Delaware. He loved traveling around to follow The Grateful Dead. Michael spent time in California before moving to Lahoma around 2010.

He is survived by both of his parents, his brother, Kevin Bender and his sister, Erin Ard; niece, Sierra Ard; nephews, Dakota Ard, John and Robert Bender.
