Celebration of Life service for Marvin Powell will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm in First Baptist Church, Covington with Pastor Phillip Gregg officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date in Hayward Cemetery. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory, Enid.
Marvin was born September 7, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma to Vernon and Vera (Siegmann) Powell and passed away February 12, 2025 in Enid, Oklahoma.
Marvin graduated from Covington High School. On November 22, 1963, he married his sweetheart, Sheryl Baker in Enid. The same day as President Kennedy’s assassination. Marvin served on the City of Enid electrical appeals board, served three terms on Garber Co-Op Board and two terms on the Pioneer School Board. He owned and operated Powell Electric in Enid for 35 years. In 2002, Marvin and Sheryl moved to the farm near Covington, where they have resided since. He enjoyed being a farmer.
He was a member of the Enid Corvette Club and First Baptist Church, Covington.
Marvin was preceded in death by his son, Lance; parents; brothers, Curtis and Clyde Powell; sister, Sharon Smith.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Sheryl; daughters, Dawn and husband, Rodney Eggers and Joelle Powell; granddaughters, Jordan Eggers and husband, Muksit Jamil and Carson Eggers; brothers, Raymond and Glen Powell; other relatives and many friends.
