Marlon A. “Tex” Myrick

Celebration of life services for Marlon A. “Tex” Myrick, 75, Enid, will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Steve Campbell officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Marlon was born on July 2, 1941 in San Benito, Texas, the son of Audry Oliver and Minnie M. Hoffman Myrick, and passed away peacefully at his residence on January 26, 2017. He was raised and educated in Austin, Texas. Marlon enlisted in the United States Army at age 18, serving one tour of Korea and three tours of Vietnam War. Marlon honorably served his country for twenty years and twenty-six days. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (fifth award), Vietnam Service Medal, eight service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit, Citation C Palm, Four Overseas Service Bars, Drill Sargent Identification Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Language Training in Vietnamese and German. His primary Specialties were field artillery and infantry.

He married Judy Ann Splane on September 5, 1960. Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann of the residence; children, Linda Revie of Springfield, Missouri, Tammy Myrick of Enid, Christina Myrick of Lawton; sister, Ruth Faurie of Austin, Texas. Nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Marlon was preceded in passing by his parents, son, Michael Myrick, and one brother.
