Celebration of Life Service for Marilyn Carol Cooper, 83 of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Dover Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Marilyn was born March 20, 1943, at home near Dover, OK to Carl and Mary Lois Eubank Bailey, and passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2026, in Enid.
She graduated from Dover High School in 1961 and later earning her Associates Degree from Enid Business College in 1962.
Marilyn married Harold Cooper on June 15, 1963, in the Dover Christian Church and they made their home in Enid. She was a secretary for O.G. & E. for many years, retiring in 1994. She and Harold were both active members of the North Enid Lions Club and she also served as secretary in various capacities with the Lions. She was a member of Garfield Genealogy Society, Antique Car Club of Enid and REO Club of America, and secretary of the REO Car Club of America.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, gardening, collecting and traveling, but most of all, spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Marilyn is survived by her husband Harold, daughters Bessie Houk and husband Bob of Enid and Christy Anson and husband Bud of Oakwood, OK, sisters Margaret Reina and husband Pat of TN, Sybil Price of Kingfisher, a brother Tarlton “Buddy” Bailey and wife Jean Ann of Yukon, four grandchildren Laurie Shrope and husband Dan, Brandy Houk, Elizabeth Houk and Patrick Anson, and six great-grandchildren Chyanne, Junior, Phelony, Colt, Hannah and Lynnzie.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the North Enid Lion’s Club.
