Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Mata de Brito will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Enid. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory, Enid.
Maria was born January 25, 1952 in Ceballos, Durango, Mexico to Francisco Mata Flores and Emeteria Esparza Lopez and passed away March 21, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
On December 17, 1969, she married Jose I. Brito Salazar. Maria was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring, loving godmother. She always was striving for her family, positive and always took care of herself with a smile and making sure she was dressed to impress. Maria was a second mother to her grandkids, they called her mom. Maria was the light to all their darkness and the reason we love the way we do. She left her family united as she always wanted. Maria was the glue for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elsa Mata; brother Pedro Mata.
Maria is survived by her husband, Jose; children, Elizabeth Brito Mata, Fernando Brito Mata and Patricia Brito Mata; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brothers, Juan Mata, Francisco Mata, Jorge Mata; sisters, Rita Mata, Maria De Jesus Mata, and Soledad Lidia Mata; nieces, nephews.
