Man Shot At Apartments Dies

ENID, OK - At 10:09 p.m. Monday night, Enid Police Department officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at Pine Manor apartments, 1011 S. 30th.

Officers arrived and found 25-year-old Joshua Hodge had been shot in the abdomen with a .22-caliber rifle. Hodge was transported to Integris Bass Baptist Hospital where he underwent surgery and was later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he is in critical condition. Hodge was pronounced dead at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers learned prior to the shooting, Guston Dellenbaugh, 25, had come to the apartments to visit his ex-girlfriend, who is also Hodge’s sister. The woman told police Dellenbaugh appeared intoxicated and was acting erratically.

Dellenbaugh pointed the .22 caliber AR at others before entering his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, where he was confronted by Hodge. During this confrontation, Dellenbaugh shot Hodge in the abdomen and fled the scene. Officers recovered the firearm in the woman’s apartment.

Officers searched the area for Dellenbaugh but did not locate him. Officers were told by a witness they saw a man get into car at a nearby gas station. Information about the search for Dellenbaugh was circulated via radio and another officer at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center on an unrelated call saw Dellenbaugh enter the hospital. That officer took Dellenbaugh into custody.

Dellenbaugh was booked on complaints of shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and felonious pointing of a firearm.

The incident remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
