The memorial service honoring and celebrating the life of Letha Helterbrand, 90, of Enid, formerly of Lahoma, will be held at a later date. Future services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born to Earl and Judith Joslin Long on June 18, 1929 on their family farm South East of Lahoma.

She was raised and educated in Lahoma graduating from Lahoma High School. She then moved to Enid where she lived and worked. She married the love of her life Clinton A. Helterbrand April 1, 1951. The couple made their home in Lahoma where they raised their five sons.

She worked as an office manager for several optometrists in Enid and then managed the optometry shop at Vance Air Force Base for many years. She was a long-time member of the United Church of Lahoma as well as being a long-time member of their choir. She enjoyed camping trips to Colorado with her family and later traveling with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed fishing but drew her greatest pride from being a loving Mother to her sons and a partner and wife to her husband.

She is survived by her sons, Doug Helterbrand and wife Sharon, of Enid, Mike Helterbrand and wife Kim, of Enid, Russell Helterbrand and wife Kathy, of Enid, and Mark Helterbrand and wife Sherri, of Florida., thirteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Judith Joslin Long, her husband, Clinton Helterbrand, and son Curtis Helterbrand.

Memorials in her name may be made to the United Church of Lahoma with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
