The celebrations of life for Lawrence Robert Clement Conrady will be held on Saturday, March 15th; A visitation with the family will be held at 1:30 pm in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, 601 W Broadway.
Lawrence Robert Clement Conrady died at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, OK on February 7, 2025, surrounded by family. Lawrence was born to Frank Conrady and Catherine Schmitz Conrady on June 7, 1942, in Wakita, OK. He was the youngest of seven sons and his father was the eldest of seven sons.
Lawrence graduated from Memorial High School in 1960. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1964 to 1969. Lawrence met ‘Rita-my-wife’ in the summer of 1965 at the Wagon Wheel Café. They were married on February 18, 1966.
Lawrence sold auto parts at stores and dealerships around Enid for almost 30 years. In his free time, he and Rita enjoyed dancing and playing cards with friends. On the weekends he often shared his collection of 1950’s and 1960’s music by being a disc jockey for class reunions, anniversary parties, and other celebrations. In 1994, Lawrence and Rita opened the Classic Club on north Washington Street so Lawrence could play music and hang out with friends full-time. The club was sold in late 2013 to his nephew, Mark Conrady.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Rita; his son, Jeff Conrady; his daughter, Rhonda Bridges; four grandchildren: Cheyenne Conrady (Zachary Freitag); Jacob Conrady (Sara); Jensen Bridges; and Lucas Conrady; sisters: Mary Amerine (Bill); ‘Rita-my-sister’ Buck (Dave); and Cathy Scaling, along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Lawrence is preceded in death by parents Frank and Catherine Conrady, brothers Frank, Jr; Leo; Richard; Dennis; Phil; Gary, and two sisters Rose and Renee.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm at the Enid Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Classic Club, 216 N Washington Street, from 4:00-6:00 pm to celebrate Lawrence’s life and to share memories.
