Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery, Nash under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Larry Gene Zander was born on May 11, 1937, in Nash, Oklahoma, and went to be with his Savior January 13, 2024. His parents were Edward and Alma Zander. Larry was raised in Nash and graduated from Nash High School in 1955, after which he joined The United States Marines. Upon completion of his term of service, Larry returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Linda Lou Campbell, on December 27, 1958. He then began his life-long dream of farming and ranching. Larry labored long hours to provide a beautiful farm home for his wife and family. His day always started before daylight and ended at dark. There were good years and tough years, but Larry’s faith helped him believe the Lord would provide and He always did. Because of his great love for horses and cattle, he always rode a good horse and his cattle were his pride and joy. His buddies often kidded him about his poor fat cattle who never went hungry. Larry’s request was to keep his obituary short because as he put it, “I’ve never done anything worth remembering.” But he will be long remembered by his family and friends for his quiet life of helping others. It was always an important part of his life to take the time to seek out those he could help in any way. He enjoyed serving his church, the Nash Christian Church. He loved his Lord, his family, and his friends. He will always be remembered for his strong handshake, even when his hands became crippled in his later years.

Larry is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 65 years, who always made sure his jeans and shirts were starched and ironed, even his everyday work clothes. He also leaves, his daughter, Lara Lyn and her husband, Matt Meyer; daughter-in-law, Terri Zander; grandchildren, Addie Jo Zander, Anna Dawn and her husband, Brent Ballagh; Montell Layne Meyer, and Morgan Gene Meyer. He is also survived by his brother Eddie Lee Zander and his wife Norma; and sister Alma Dee Hopkins. Larry was preceded in death by two children, Tara Dawn and Layne Dean Zander, and his parents.

Memorials may be made to the church he loved, Nash Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds. The family would like to thank Moon Mullins who was such a faithful and understanding friend to Larry. Also, a very big thanks to Dr. Snyder and the beloved staff at Greenbriar Skilled Nursing for their loving care of Larry.
