Karen Jean Theilen

September 21, 1942 - October 12, 2025

Funeral service for Karen Theilen, 83, will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 am in Enid First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jarrod Cloud officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Karen was born on September 21, 1942, in Enid to Charles and May (O’Brate) Payne and passed away on October 12, 2025, in Oklahoma City.

She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Carrier High School. On April 18, 1964, Karen married Henry (H.H.) Theilen. She was a farmer’s wife in every sense of the word and worked several years at Bass Hospital in the registration department until her retirement. Karen was a member of Enid First Assembly of God Church.

She was very family oriented. Karen always loved having her family around her and always looked forward to taking family photos and attending her grandkids various activities and events. She looked forward to attending family reunions. She enjoyed helping with Rangers, Missonettes, childrens church, and was active with the Farmers Union. Karen loved crafting, gardening, and playing many card and marble games and she also loved to sing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.H.; parents; sister, Lucy Webster; brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Bennie, Barton, Glen & George.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (James) Mercer, Kevin (Karla) Theilen, Ernie (Melinda) Theilen, KaRene Theilen, Angie (Keith) Riggs; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild with another on the way; sister, Mergie Cochran; many nieces, nephews and friends.
