April 20, 1957 - April 9, 2025
The celebration of life service to honor John Thomas Dustin, age 67 of Waukomis, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
John was born on April 20, 1957, in Boston, Ma to George and Dolores Powers Dustin, and was called back home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2025 due to a vehicle accident in Enid, OK.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a lineman and was a sharpshooter. He traveled extensively and some of his passions were playing hockey, and striper fishing at the ocean. He loved to sing and play the drums on the dash of any car or truck he was in. He loved working with his hands. John’s main profession was in construction. He loved to read the bible and talk to anyone who would listen.
Some of his favorite things to say were, “Don’t let the gray hair fool ya!!”, “I do what I’m told and I still get in trouble”, “Don’t make the Leprechaun come out”, “Beanal Baby”.
John was a shining light in the lives of all the friends he had the privilege of making along his journey. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of everyone that loved him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but remember him for the fun loving, caring, and selfless attitude for always helping others, but mainly for his faith in God.
John was preceded in death by his beloved mother Dolores Powers and his father, George Dustin. He is survived by his brothers, Kevin and MaryAnn Dustin, Bruce and Elise Dustin, his wife Maureen, children Jessica, JP, Daniel, Melinda, David, David, Lisa, Daniel and Matthew. His many grand and great-grandchildren. Also, all of his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by Frances Deshane.
