John Richard Bullard

Thursday, October 8th, 1931 - Friday, February 18th, 2022

Celebration of Life Service for John Richard Bullard, age 90, of Enid will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev Devon Krause and Rev. Susan Southall officiating. Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery, Okeene, OK under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at 6-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.

John was born October 8, 1931 on his grandparents’ farm east of Garber, OK to Verol N (Miller) and Perner R Bullard and passed away, February 18, 2022 in Enid, OK. John started to school in Garber, OK and later the family moved to Waukomis, OK where he graduated in 1949. He enlisted in the Navy and served abroad in the LST in Korea. Upon returning to the United States, he received orders for flight training in the Navy. After completion of the flight training, John was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. He spent numerous cruises on aircraft carriers to the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. He retired in 1969 from the Navy.

John bought two Otasco stores, one in Hennessey and one in Kingfisher. He sold the stores after 10 years. John did various jobs and did Real Estate until he retired in 2004. He served as the Mayor of Hennessey.
John married Goldie Watkins on December 24, 1952. They had three children: Cynthia Kay, Phyllis Ann, and Suzanne Marie. John later married Joyce Cardialio. Upon her death, he married Edwardene Gorman. After her death, he married Marian “Cook” Horsley on February 24, 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Marian and three daughters: Cynthia Kay and her husband, Steve Hair of Seguin, TX; Phyllis Ann and her husband, Kennedy Crosswhite and Suzanne Hershberger both of Enid and a step-daughter, Marilyn White; step-daughter and husband, Judy and Bob Bell. John had 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

We will miss John’s sense of humor, his story-telling talent and his gentle demeanor.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Enid, OK with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
