On November 24, 1930, Jesse Lloyd was born to George and Willa Tapp in Higgins Texas and passed away on March 5, 2025 in Enid with his family by his side.
He was the fourth of their five children. Jesse graduated from Enid High School in 1950 and soon after joined the US Army to serve his country. In 1954 he began college at A&M Tech in Okmulgee and graduated from there with an agricultural degree before returning to Enid to make his home. For 60 years Jesse loved working in the real estate business and for the past 39 years he and his wife Gayle have devoted their lives to serving Enid residents by selling and renting houses. He had real compassion for the people who lived in his houses and apartments and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Jesse was a member of Davis Park Christian Church, and later Willow Road Christian Church, the Church of the Brethren and Grace Bible Church. He was an energetic volunteer in camping ministries and above all, was passionate about the work of the Gideons, at his death being the oldest Gideon in the city of Enid. The way Jesse lived his life reflected his love for the Lord Jesus, the church, and his family. He enjoyed supporting his daughter’s pursuits, fund raising for Oklahoma Bible Academy and chaperoning Valiant Knights Drum and Bugle Corp activities and trips. As he grew older, traveling with family on cruises and vacations was a great blessing to him.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Eugene, Virgle, Vera Moulton, and Coraleene Neundorf, his son Kevin, and his granddaughter Anna Wells.
He is survived by his wife Gayle, and daughters Debbie Tappan (Dwayne McFerrin), Tresa and Rick Campbell, Robyn and Bill Honeycutt, and Brenda and Peter Roller, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Greenbrier for their service and love toward Jesse during the time he lived there, and also to Hospice Circle of Love for their care of Jesse and his family.
