Jerry Ray Harman

March 16, 1931 - January 12, 2024

Funeral services for Jerry R. Harman, age 92 of Ringwood, Oklahoma, will be held at Grace Mennonite Church in Enid, Oklahoma, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, with Pastor's Lyle Buller and Mike Sommerfeld officiating. A private burial for his family will be held prior to the funeral service at Karoma Cemetery in Goltry under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on March 16, 1931 in Meno, Oklahoma. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2024 at 10:25 a.m.

He graduated from Ringwood schools in 1949. After high school, Jerry went to play for the Pueblo Dodgers baseball team. He later worked in the oil fields. Jerry married Elsie Koons on August 28, 1951.

While employed at Central National Bank in Enid, Jerry was called up to serve in the United States Army in 1952. He served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Jerry was Honorably Discharged in August of 1954.

Jerry and his wife, Elsie, were blessed with two girls. After Jerry’s service in the armed forces, he worked for Gold Spot Dairy from 1955 to 1993, after which he retired. He continued to work as a handyman during retirement.

After his return from Germany, Jerry and Elsie rededicated their lives to God after their daughters were born. They attended Goltry Community Bible Church. Jerry was both an elder and taught Sunday School at Enid Christian Union Church.

Elsie Harman died March 27, 2008.

Jerry and Dona Jantzen were school friends and they later married on May 8, 2011. They resided together in Ringwood, Oklahoma.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Dona Harman; two daughters, Cynthia Brown, Teena Newton and her husband, Robert; 6 grandchildren: Jeremy and Stephannie Brown, Joshua and Julia Brown, Kara and George Regier, and four great grandchildren: Ellianne, Chance, Ethan and Evan; Dona’s 5 children; Jean Ann Jantzen French and Sparky Taft, John Martens, Mary and Kevin Balzer; 12 grandchildren: Karla and Eric French, Katie and Philip Fletcher, Hank and Kimberly Martens, Levi and Carolyn Martens, Rachel and Jeremy Rogers, Peter and Kara Balzer; 14 great grandchildren: Maggie, Lucy, Evie, Addie, Max, Earl, Ryan, Luke, Mason, Norah, Sophie, Lane, Luke and Kaley.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Koons Harman, his parents Austin and Martha Becker Harman, his sister Betty Sparks, son-in-law David Brown, and Dona's daughters, Rita Jantzen and Linda Martens.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Elara Hospice.
