James Robertson

May 28, 1934 - February 17, 2021

The services celebrating and honoring the life of James Robertson, 86, Of Enid, will be held privately Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

James was born May 28, 1934 to G.H. Robertson and Rudell (Vernon) Robertson in Trenton, Tennessee and passed from this life February 17, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Arkansas and Oklahoma and graduated from Blythville High School. He joined the United States Navy at the age of sixteen. He married Lupe Ruiz and from this union came three children. He retired honorably from the Navy in 1970. He began working in various power plants both nuclear and fossil powered and retired from Energy Corp in 1997 in Russellville Arkansas. He married Lavelle Cornelius July 2, 1987 in Russellville, Arkansas. He was a Pilot and enjoyed flying. He had a Blue/Black Belt in Karate; he also played the acoustic guitar and was currently constructing his own guitar. He loved making things with his hands. He was a very good man.

He is survived by his wife Lavelle Robertson, of the home, his children, James Jim Robertson Jr., Terry Robertson, Jamie Robertson, Coretta Stewart, Ernest Jack Anita Jack, John Jack, Tammy Reynolds; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Harold Robertson, Terry Robertson and Shelby “Crickett” Benavidez.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his honor to the Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
