Eugene Brooks

November 20, 1965 - December 21, 2022

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Eugene Brooks Sr. 57, of Enid, will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 27, 2022, in the Emmanuel Enid Church with his Son Eugene Brooks Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Eugene Keith Brooks Sr. was born November 20, 1965, to Walter Wayne and Linda Brooks in Michigan and passed from this life December 21, 2022, in Wichita, Kansas.

He raised and educated in Las Angeles, California where he attended High School. He enlisted in the United States Army where he drove a tank. He was married to Linda Stone for twenty-three years. In 2003 the family moved to Enid where he worked at Star Tek in customer service for eight years. He then worked at Wal-Mart for six years beginning in the money center for two years and then in the produce department for four years. He then worked at Lowes Home improvement until he was medically unable. They were long time members of Emmanuel Enid where he was involved in Tim Taylor’s Sunday School class for numerous years.

He loved watching movies, Star Wars, debating politics, especially with his daughter in law Erin Brooks and his brother Vincent Brooks, discussing religion with his son Eugene Brooks Jr. and his Mom Linda Chavis, playing chess and being unbeatable at Monopoly.

He is survived by his son Eugene Brooks Jr. and wife Erin Vene Brooks, his mother, Linda Chavis, brother, Vincent Brooks and wife Karla Gomez; sister, Carrie Hobbs and husband Mark; nieces and nephews, Johnny Brooks, Christian Brooks, Nathan Garcia, Natalie Garcia, Joshua Brooks, Serenity Brooks, Jimmy Ensley, Billy Ensley, and Chris Ensley; also survived by his aunts Elizabeth Gorman, Rose and Edward Slatan, Francis and Bill.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Stone Brooks.
