Enid Police Now Using Neighbors App

ENID, OK - The Enid Police Department announced that they have joined Neighbors by Ring! The ‘Neighbors’ app is a digital neighborhood watch right on your phone where you can get real-time crime and safety alerts from your neighbors and law enforcement.
-
EPD will be using ‘Neighbors’ to monitor crime in your area and send you updates on key crime incidents so you can all stay informed. By working together, residents and police can all make Enid a safer community.
-
You do not need to own a Ring device or any other home security system in order to download and use the Neighbors app. All tips shared via Neighbors are anonymous unless you choose to identify yourself. Also, this app does not grant EPD access to your cameras or user data. They can only view content posted by users to the Neighbors app or that they have decided to share directly in response to a specific request.
-
The Neighbors App uses your address to create a radius around your home. If anyone shares an alert on the App about crime or safety within that radius, you’ll get a notification on your phone and tablet. Conversely, if you share an alert on the App about a crime or safety issue in your radius, your neighbors will also get a notification on their phones and tablets. You can then comment on these alerts to provide additional information about local issues, give tips to avoid affected areas, share photos or videos to help neighbors stay on the lookout, etc.
